A very funny phone call video / audio. I know I shouldn’t really do this, but I had to share this video on an alternative way to handle a marketing call / telemarketer.
The audio has been viral are around for sometime, but if you have not seen this, prepare to be amused
As someone who has sons who are Young Entrepreneurs it is always pleasing to see Organisations etc offering incentive’s to The Young Entrepreneur
The following is a fine example on one such Organisation that is offering a helping hand to the Young Business Person.
British Small Business Champions (BSBC) is an awards ceremony that takes place every year run by the Federation of Small Businesses and this year they are looking for younger applicants for their Young Entrepreneur award.
The Federation of Small Businesses wants to hear from any young individual who has developed a business and whose vision of entrepreneurship shows promise for the future.
A panel of judges will decide the winner and they are looking for a variety of attributes such as a clear identification of a market opportunity, innovation, growth, as well as evidence of strong financial performance in terms of both sales and profit growth.
Application forms to win the Young Entrepreneur award must reach the federation by January31 and the winner will be announced at an awards dinner at a prestigious London venue in, June 2007.
This caught my eye this week - a “story” that could have perhaps done with a bit more reporting.
The UK government has a whopping 951 websites designed to help the public with information and enquiries. However after a government review more than half of these websites are set to close.
The government plans to close 551 of their websites “to make access to information easier” for web users and save money, which could be as high as £9 million a year.
Only 26 are definitely going to stay with the majority of them being main departmental websites. The rest are to be reviewed more closely and many of them could be shut down.
The UK government’s information online will be focused through two Directgov and Business Link and many of the closed sites will be transferred to the two sites.
Entrepreneurs are individuals who in my experience are always going around with their eyes and minds wide open to the endless possibilities that are available to all, but only taken advantage of by a few.
The story of WillitBlend.com is a classic example of one individual seeing “something” that nobody else did. Between 1st Nov and 15th Dec this site logged something like 8.4 million views on the site and YouTube!
Of course it is also one of those ideas that I bet lots of people are now thinking: Why Did I Not Think Of That?
For more on this story and even more ideas of how perhaps you could make more use of Video on the web see this article: Blending video and e-commerce
